Teddy's says, "Each day brings new insight into the world of color, values, and composition. Feeling the mood of the moment and translating it into a piece of art is an adventure. Learning to see is a life long process."
Art has been an important part of Teddy's life since the age of 10. Her dear Aunt Norma gave her a set of oil paints and she began to create her visions on canvas. During her years as a Human Resources Professional, she dabbled in painting to relieve stress. She describes standing in front of the easel as her very own personal vacation.
She works primarily in Acrylic and Oil. Her favorite subjects are landscape and equine art, although she has painted a wide variety of subjects. Teddy began plein air painting in 2007, attending the yearly Augusta, MO Plein Air Events and Stems Plein Air Paint, Overland Park, KS. Her painting "Seclusion" won First in Acrylic at the Stems Event in 2009.
When she is not painting, she is volunteering her time to art organizations, teaching classes and workshops, and encouraging others to get involved in the art community.
President of Summit Art, Co-Chair of the Blue Springs Art League Annual Fine Art Show, and Member of Greater Kansas City Art Association, Independence Art Association, and Cultural Arts Coalition of Eastern Jackson County. She curates a number of Art Exhibitions and Artist Receptions in the Kansas City Area.
