Gatehouse

On the first day of the tour, we visited Chantilly, France just north of Paris.
"Oh this is a painting!" I said as I saw the Gatehouse at the Chateau de Chantilly in France.

Here's the reference photo.

With a busy tour schedule, I decided to wait until I got home to paint this lovely scene.  I painted the basics of the painting in Acrylic, then added the finishing touches with oil.  I find that the colors are much richer with the oils.

Mom, I think you did a great job, it's hard for me to really choose a favorite. You know I love all your work! This painting is my favorite of your France paintings, well and the Waterlily. I am so proud of you, and all your accomplishments.

Thanks Teddy! I love the water hydrant/fire
plug. I was excited to see someoneelse enjoys the water equipment that I work with
all the time. Now I just have to figure out how to make that big ball water tower painterly! Patsy
