Hi Everyone:
It has been a busy January. I hope you have missed viewing my "Painting a Week". As I mentioned in my E-Newsletter, I will be doing different types of things this year. Although, I really enjoyed doing a painting for each week of the year, it is time to apply what I learned to my larger paintings. I may even take you through some of the steps in building some of these new paintings. My next E-Newsletter will be on the way to you in the next few weeks.
Speaking of new types of things, the Greater Kansas City Art Association catergory for the month of January was "fantasy". If you are familiar with my painting, you know that my work is representational, meaning most everything is recognizable. Our Blue Ribbon committee chair, Connie Mowe, encourages the members to try something new. Well, I put on my classical music in the studio and quickly created "just something". Something that didn't particularly look like anything at all. Just a lot of pretty colors placed here and there on the canvas. I actually won a Blue Ribbon Award for "Fantasy". I will get it photographed and post it on my next blog. You may say "What was she thinking?"
I will be back soon with the some photos.

Here it is!!! - Painting number 52 of my 2009 Painting a Week project.
************
It has been a great experience creating a painting for each week of the year. I have given you a bit of variety, although, most of the paintings have been landscapes. Thanks for watching my progress and visiting often.
I will be writing a E-Mail Newsletter at least 4 times this year with a sprinkle of special announcements. Please continue to follow my blog and visit my website.
Wishing you and your family good health, happiness, and a prosperous New Year.

This landscape depicts an October scene in the rural midwest. It is so inspiring to stop along the roadway and catch a view like this one.
I hope you are enjoying my 2009 Painting a Week project. Although, I have been late in posting some of my paintings, I have completed a painting for each week beginning the day after Christmas in 2008.
These beautiful leaves are a nice reminder of the variety of colors present in the foliage of fall. This variety brings excitement to the heart of this artist and many others.
Realizing that winter is not far behind these blazing oranges, reds, yellows, and golds, I eagerly await the seasons first snow.
I hope you will enjoy this piece.
Thanks for visiting,
Teddy
