Class - Painting in Oil or Acrylic
Location: GOT ART - Gallery on Third

Class meets each Wednesday.
Morning class is from 9:00 to Noon.
Afternoon class meets from 1:00 to 4:00 pm.
Students may paint in either Acrylic or Oils.
Fee is $80 for 4 sessions.
Supply list available on request.

Blue Springs Art League 32nd Annual Fine Art Show
Location: Vesper Hall

Reception: 3/22/2010 • 7:00 to 9:00 pm

Awards Reception - Admission at the door $8.00/per person or $15.00/per couple. Children 3 and under are free.

Sun. Mar. 21, 2010 -  11:00 am to 4:00 pm
There will be a painting demonstration at 2:00 pm on Sunday.
Painting a Garden Landscape
Location: Powell Gardens
Event Dates: 4/10/2010 -

PAINTING A GARDEN LANDSCAPE IN ACRYLIC OR OIL
Come learn how to develop your composition by sketching shapes and values not just objects. Color theory will be discussed. You will practice changing color temperature and intensity, while effectively managing difficult greens. A brief overview of composition, values and center of interest will start our day. Be ready to sketch in the garden, weather permitting. You are welcome to bring your own photos for reference material. All levels of artists, painting in either acrylics or oils, will enjoy this class. A supply list will be mailed upon registration. Please indicate if you are painting with oil or acrylic. Bring a sack lunch as we will have a short lunch break.

Augusta MO Plein Air Event
Event Dates: 4/21/2010 - 5/1/2010

On Saturday, May 1st, the Art Show and Auction will mark the end of this annual event.  The participating artists will be displaying their artwork, which has been created on location.  It is a rain or shine show, which will be held at the Mt. Pleasant Winery in Augusta, MO.

One hundred artists from five states will be descending upon Augusta, MO for the 2010 Plein Air Art Event.  There will be$7,000 in prizes including eight $500 purchase awards.  Eager artists will be sketching and painting throughout the area.  It is a thrill to walk along the narrow streets and see artists creating their masterpieces.  They will be packing into the special paintout events.  Their minds racing as they search for their subjects and begin to paint.
